RISI is the leading information provider for the global forest products industry. The company works with clients in the pulp and paper, wood products, timber, tissue, nonwovens, printing and publishing industries to help them make better decisions.

Headquartered in Boston (Bedford), Massachusetts, RISI operates offices in Brussels, Belgium; Atlanta, Georgia; San Francisco, California; Portland, Oregon; Shanghai, China; Singapore; Sao Paulo, Brazil and Charlottesville, Virginia.

RISI announced today that Teguh Ganda Wijaya of APP has been named as the most powerful person in the global pulp and paper industry for 2008. RISI published the industry's first ever Power List in the July issues of its leading magazines, Pulp & Paper International (PPI) and Pulp & Paper. The head of the Asian papermaking giant is joined by other influential players like International Paper's John Faraci, Stora Enso's Jouko Karvinen and Nine Dragons' Cheung Yan in the top ten of the Power List.

The list is comprised of the fifty most influential people in the business and is based on nominations from RISI's editors, engineers and economists, as well as from professionals and experts from within the industry. It includes leading figures from all parts of the supply chain, including paper makers, NGOs, paper buyers, suppliers, financial analysts, academics, politicians and even a world famous novelist.

"As the industry's leading publisher, we're proud to present this new ranking of the movers and shakers in the pulp and paper sector. Our aim is to give recognition not just to the CEOs and company leaders, but also to people in all areas of the business who have a significant impact on shaping the global pulp and paper industry today," commented Rhiannon James-van Beuningen, Senior Vice President, Media Products, RISI.
